I think you are overgeneralizing and thereby invoking imaginary demons in your mind. Ever since Nixon visited China, relations between China and the US have been improving or have remained on an even keel. Being a pragmatic people, the Chinese are prudent enough not to offend the US unnecessarily. I believe that's why China has remained pretty silent on Bush's faults and failures for a long time until one day before the election. The Chinese message is clear: Bush and his henchmen are dangerous people, and it is desirable for America to make a fresh start!
