I did not articulate my position well and you misunderstood it. In any event, choosing the wrong implementation for a goal is not a refutation for the goal. To make it short: You look to see where you want to be in 10 years, then you walk in that direction given what you have to deal with today. The problem with those who insist on primarily dealing with the "here and now", aside from being reactionary and putting us always on the defensive, is that once the immediate issue is resolved they find other "urgent" fires to put off instead of really resolving the problem they were working on.
