Let’s recall the memorable and still-relevant words of a great American who must be turning over in his grave at the depths to which his Republican Party has sunk….

You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time
- Abraham Lincoln

All of us have been fooled by Bush at some point in the last four years. Everyone but those who enjoy being fools eventually wised up and won’t get fooled again.

The real problem is that first group. The ones who didn’t wise up. The ones you can ALWAYS fool.

There is a large group of people in this country who have been so desensitized by the endless barrage of propaganda from the Right-Wing Noise Machine that they are virtually incapable of independent thought.

It is hard to believe but they actually buy all the lies, all the distortions, all the spin.

They are the basis for those strange statistics about still believing WMDs were actually found in Iraq and Saddam’s direct involvement in 9/11. They believe that stupid nonsense even after the Bushies ‘fess up.

They clutter up this thread.

They are the Know-Nothings of the 21st Century.

When Bush demands a loyalty oath, their right arms are the first ones to shoot up.

Bush could stick his ass out the window of the Oval Office and moon America (I hope I didn’t ruin anyone’s dinner there) and these lame fools would still vote for him.

They are quite simply beyond the beyond, a lost cause, hopeless.

Can we muster enough citizens who clearly see the damage that has been done to this country in the last four years?

Can we get enough of them to the polls to overcome the right-wing robots?

Will their votes be honestly counted?

Tomorrow we find out.
