This was a campaign speech. This is not John Kerry's son. it is the bag lady's son.... she is too old to have kids, you should know that.... she is older than John, but also much richer.....

So Kerry's stepson's comments are fodder for the press, but Cheney's daughter's comments are off limits??

What a stupid comment! Chris Heinz made public statements that the vast majority of Americans would find both stupid and offensive. The very fact that they were PUBLIC COMMENTS makes them political fodder whether you like it or not. He inserted himself into the public arena and deserves what he gets. Mary Cheney, OTOH, has never inserted herself into the public arena and she certainly didn't make public comments that any rational person could construe as stupid or offensive. She was ambushed by Edwards and Kerry in a thinly veiled attempt to dampen turnout of religious conservatives, including religious minorities.

This was yet another sign of Kerry's desperation (along with the draft and social security scare tactics). And desperate people rarely win elections.
