Mr. Bush has his endorsements too. Unfortunately for him, though: the papers that have chosen Kerry top the Bush backers in circulation by about a 4-1 margin: 2,534,377 to 637,187 total daily circ (see chart below). In selecting Bush Sunday, the Columbian did so in what it admitted was a very "tepid" way. "Bush's leadership, even with his many mistakes, is more appealing than Kerry's lack of leadership," the paper concluded. "Bush should be re-elected. We can't hold out for a magical candidate."
