Saudi Arabia has begun dealing with the 40% unemployment rate by limiting the amount of guest worker visas. With the better trained more motivated foreign workers out of the mix, locals are starting to work again.

You are probably right that at first many Iraqis will work expat and send money home to families. As the economy in Iraq becomes more vibrant, it will become a magnet of the region.

Or, we could destroy Iraq by sending Kerry to the Whitehouse.

Don't turn your backs on the Iraqis again. 1991 was tragic enough for the following 15 years. Return President Bush to finish the job.

I hesitate calling the Saudi economy successful but it is definitely prosperous. Now that Iraqis have passports I suspect at least some will go to work in SA.

Unemployment in Saudi Arabia among Saudis is something like 25%. Saudis pay outside laborers (mainly Philippinos, Indians and Pakistanis) something along the lines of $300 per month + communal housing (like living in a barracks).
