Winning big today would be a great first step towards reforming the republican party. The knives would be out for the neocons, get a nice little civil war going within the party. The reality based republicans would be the new leaders.

The real problem with the US electoral system way predates the Bushies. To wit: WHY IS ELECTION DAY NOT A NATIONAL HOLIDAY IN THE US AS IT IS IN MOST OTHER ADVANCED DEMOCRACIES.? The powers that be in this country have been doing their best to keep segments of the population from voting for generations. I If election day were a national holiday, it would be much easier for poor and working class people to vote. And that would spell electoral disaster for the Republicans IMHO.
