And I was pissed off at the time that we didn't go into Pakistan... we could've paid Pakistan off -- it was too important. And since when does it matter to the Bush administration what other countries think of us?

Even in other countries public opinion take time to change. Musharraf would have lost his Presidency if he had allowed us in at the time. It took FDR years to move public opinion enough to get the US into the European conflict later known as WWII.
