The John Kerry Defense Primer
By Dave Gibson (11/02/04)

Sen. John Kerry's opinion of the United States Military has been well documented. Unfortunately, most of it is shameful.

Kerry began his public life as a U.S. Naval officer serving in the Vietnam War. It is incredible that anyone could amass three Purple Hearts, a Bronze Star, and a Silver Star in only four months of service. He accomplished this feat and returned home without a scratch (actually that is exactly the extent of his wounds). Kerry is the only Swift Boat veteran who returned to the U.S. after serving less than a full year of duty, unless they were killed or severely wounded.

Kerry continues to lie about his Vietnam service, claiming that he did two tours of duty in that war, when he actually never completed one. He also refuses to sign Military Form 180, which would give the full release of his military medical records. My question is this: If Kerry has nothing to hide, then why not release them? Of course, the leftist media has never pushed the issue.

Consider this...How many times have you heard Kerry talk about his Senate voting record? He has spent most of his professional life (19 years) in that legislative body. If it were not a source of embarrassment, he would brag about it--the way he does about his short stay in Vietnam. It is curious that someone would rather focus on an event which took place 35 years ago, than on his current role as a U.S. Senator.

After Kerry returned from Vietnam, he joined the anti-war movement. He spoke out against our troops along with such subversives as Jane Fonda and Tom Hayden. Their actions undoubtedly prolonged the war.

In 1971, he sat before a U.S. Senate panel and lied about the actions of his fellow soldiers, still serving in Vietnam. He labeled U.S. servicemen as "war criminals" and characterized their exploits as "reminiscent of Ghengis Khan."

The effect that Kerry's words had upon our troops was catastrophic. Many Vietnam POW's have stated that they were shown Kerry's testimony, while being held. The documentary "Stolen Honor," provides the detailed accounts of several American POW's torture, at the hands of North Vietnamese prison guards--after Kerry lied before the Senate. The Kerry campaign tried to silence these veterans.

As a Senator, Kerry has a long history of being weak on national defense. He has voted against every major weapons system that has come before him. If it were up to John Kerry alone, this nation's military would not have a modern tank (M1 Abrams), it would not have a cruise missile system (Tomahawk Missile), it would not have a modern long-range bomber (B1 and B2), and it would not have the best fighter jets in the world (F15 Strike Eagle, FA-18, F117). Kerry has also voted against the construction of every aircraft carrier since 1988.

Kerry pushed for a nuclear freeze, while President Reagan was fighting and winning The Cold War. In 1986, he was very vocal in his opposition to the U.S. led attack on Libya. Reagan ordered the attack in response to Moamar Quadfhi's role in the bombing of a Berlin disco, which was frequented by U.S. servicemen.

As President Bush so aptly put it in the days following the 9/11 attacks, "You are with the terrorists or against them!" Kerry however, seems to have difficulty choosing a side. In 1989, he voted against invoking the death penalty against terrorists who kill Americans. He has also referred to the oldest living terrorist Yasser Arafat, as a "statesman. A Kerry presidency would once again see a terrorist invited to the White House (as during the Clinton years) and treated as if they were a legitimate head of state.

Kerry has said on many occasions that he would put U.S. foreign policy to a "global test." President Kerry would no doubt put the interests of the corrupt United Nations ahead of our own.

In the 2004 Presidential Election, we are choosing a commander-in-chief. John Kerry will never be qualified to hold that title. Throughout his life, Kerry has been on the wrong side of history...Let us make certain that this election provides him no exception.

What a vile comment. I haven't gloated a bit over the Bush victory but you're one person that requires a serving of humble pie. I suspect you'd get it if you were man enough to come out of hiding.

Gray skies are going to clear up, put on a happy face; wipe off the clouds and cheer up, put on a happy face; spread sunshine all over the place - and put on a happy face

The civil war is ON. God has proclaimed the USA is for moderates and progressives and has declared war on his wayward Republican children.
