Idea Of The Day The future is not a result of choices among alternative paths offered by the present, but a place that is created--created first in the mind and will, created next in activity. The future is not some place we are going to, but one we are creating. The paths are not to be found, but made, and the activity of making them, changes both the maker and the destination. Today in history-November 4:

1852 - Count Cavour became the prime minister of Piedmont-Sardinia, which soon expanded to become Italy.

1869 - Nature, one of the oldest and most reputable general purpose scientific journals, was first published.

1956 - Soviet troops invaded Hungary to crush the Hungarian Uprising, killing thousands. Nearly a quarter million fled the country as refugees.

1979 - Iranian radicals seized the U.S. embassy in Tehran and held the occupants hostage for 444 days.

1995 - Israeli prime minister Yitzhak Rabin was mortally wounded at a peace rally in Tel Aviv by Yigal Amir.

Hi Ike,

It was rational destiny.

If the media is unwilling to fully vet a candidate prior to an election then how can the people decide if that candidate is worthy? ...they can't!

Also, how can that same media then be trusted to protect our interests through their vigilance (all of our interests not just one political party)? ...they won't!

So, ...tell me, ...how can we trust the media to allow us to put another Democrat in the office of president?

;-)
