Long ago I saw a cartoon of a reporter asking a beer guzling slob, "What do you think is the cause of voter apathy?" to which he answers, "I don't know and I don't care".

I am quite seriously creating a plan B to "diversify" my future from solely depending on a prosperous America.

I see you are in a piss poor mood today. Maybe you didn't see the <g> at the end of my post to redfish. Not that it was really intended with that much humor.<gg>

Virginia wasn't close at all. It was one of the first exit polls on the East Coast to close. I would never expect NY or PA to ever vote for a Republican under any circumstance. Democrats feed on the large urban masses for the majority of their votes. They will lose 80% of the precincts in a given state and then close the gap with the large population centers.

Trying to correlate 100% predicable Democrat voting patterns in NYC or PA as an harbinger of change go without saying. The urban masses actually believe the entitlement promises that the Democrats sing to them - we can fight an effective war on terrorism where everyone likes us, we can tax the rich and pay down the deficit, we can provide national healthcare, we can fix social security, we can repair the environment, we can create alternative forms of energy.

The list goes on and on. The idealism is duly noted but the Democrats do not have the platform of leadership from which to direct their "benevolent" policies that will make us a greater nation that is loved by the French. I don't really care about OBL today. I am just glad that Bush and Kerry were able to conclude an honest election with no Gore-like aftermath. It really does give me greater faith in Kerry's character as a man. He certainly could have dragged this election out for a few more days.
