Derrick,

Now we can have real tort reform, if we're brave enough to do it. That's what democracy depends on, courage.

We won't have to listen to the silly tirades and bogus statistics about how medical malpractice lawyers and general tort lawyers are out there, fighting every day for the little guy. The trial bar has been a tremendous, rusty brake on our economic development and has never acted in thought or deed to help those who have been hurt, or to change the way potential tortfeasors act, except to force those folks to get out of the business/professions they were in and look for more rational ways to make a living.

One of our posters compared the tort lawyers to, not sharks or barracudas or leeches, but to HOOKWORMS. I love it.
