Why do our politicians need to bother with what's being shown on TV? There are so many other issues that need their attention and focus. The proliferation of sex and vulgarity on TV should not be a political or legislated issue. Tort reform, taxation, health care reforms, defense+security spending, and creating a better business environment, these should be issues dealt with at the legislative level.

We don't need to have our federal government TELL us what our individual morality should be. If they want to work on ethics, let them start in their own backyards! I fully understand that if the majority of the population does not want their government to sponsor or fund abortions, then the government should not be doing so.

However, I strongly believe that the government should not be in the business of telling individuals what personal choices they are allowed to make. Before long, they will be telling us what religion we must belong to and what books we'll be allowed to read. Once you start trying to legislate morality, you are on a very slippery slope, imo.
