Two Bright Spots
There were not many but there were some.

Melissa Bean knocked out Phil Crane in an extremely republican Illinois district. Mine. Phil Crane has been holding this congressional seat for 35 years as was the most senior Republican in all of Congress! Crane won the seat in a 1969 special election when none other than Don Rumsfeld accepted an appointment under Nixon. Good riddance to Phil Crane. I was happy to cast my vote for Melissa Bean.

Cheers to Melissa Bean. Knocking off high ranking Republican Congressmen last night was not exactly easy to do!

Next bright spot: Barack Obama!
If Obama plays his cards smartly he has a chance to be the first black president or vice-president. Good luck to Obama.

Its too bad the rest of the nation did not have the same foresight as my district, and as I said, it is an EXTREMELY republican district.

Cheers to Melissa Bean and Barack Obama
