"And no I did not vote the Bush-Cheney ticket...but have the same hopes you do now that it is over" Well...maybe we need the guidance of fools in a world of fools. The ethical secular rationalist position is to do no harm except in self defense. It gives a great advantage to tyrants and those whom get their "morality" from thin air. So perhaps our survival rests on barbarian systems of thought rather than on the accumulated wisdom, compassion, and ethical progress of humanity. Perhaps our survival rests in the mindless attacks of the lion rather than the simple trading of food and resources and goodwill between cultured and civilized people? Time will tell. In the meantime...a glass to you! Don't work too hard!
