Actually, even though Kerry was not the best choice, even he came close to beating Bush and would have beaten him, if the Diebold systems had been forced to generate a paper trail.

However, my point is that trying to be a "me too Bush Lite" Democrat is a disaster. Even Kerry was a little bit of that, since he voted for the Iraq war. And in spite of that he almost won.
