Studying Presidential Election Returns for the State of California.

Roughly 10 million voters. Kerry gets 5.4M, Bush gets 4.4M.

The 9 counties that make up the Bay Area, Kerry had an 840K edge. So the Kerry lead sans the Bay Area is 160K.

Now add in Los Angeles County which was Pro-Kerry by 700K.

Remove these 10 counties, and the remainder of California is solidly Red.

The 10 counties comprise about 4.8M of the 10 M total votes.

The "rest of California" comprises 5.2M votes running about 2.9M Bush to 2.3M Kerry.

The "madness" is sequestered in isolated pockets.
