I don't follow Buffett closely, so I couldn't comment on some of what you say. But as far as currencies are concerned, he announced a couple of years ago that he was buying foreign currencies without saying which ones, but which is in effect a dollar short position. The fact is, though, that the dollar is much bigger than any single investor, bigger than Soros and Buffett put together. And besides, currency plays are discussed a great deal right here on SI. Are we being unpatriotic? These days, any prudent investor with the resources would be doing the same thing. So why is betting against the dollar--something the Fed practically begs to be done-somehow unamerican?
