Canada is a perfect example of how it was handled peacefully, the net result was an increased level of awareness about Quebec's issues, that were previously ignored.

By the way, the core issue is how the Right Wings are completely intolerant to accepting important issues to the Blue States. If the Red Wing Radicals in Congress had some level of tolerance, you would find this country united behind them.

Bush's "mandate of a broad victory" and his "you either are like me or leave", doesn't generate unity. So a peaceful ballot initiative towards secession might help educate him and his team to be more tolerant and inclusive.

Hi JLA,

You're located in NH, aren't you? Does the Free State Project get any local media play up there?

Believe me, as a libertarian, I'd like to secede from both the red and the blue states. I don't want to live under the thumb of either bible thumping theocrats or socialist lunatics...

>you should consider why you have lost in the manner you did....

Because too many on our side believe that gays should have civil union and or/marriage rights.

That's because many of us are not "faith based."

If we ever are, I'm leaving the Democratic party.

But, it's REALLY hard and taboo to try to change someone's faith, and that or pandering to faith more are the only ways to get a real foothold in the red states.
