I think this control is readily available via your TV's channel dial and on/off switch...some people believe the on/off switch should be as close to the people i.e. in your living room, while others want it as far away as possible (ideally in the producers' brains, but barring that at the broadcast station).

BTW, courts routinely allow people to park in illegal locations when they see the pursuit of happiness is disproportionately hindered by the law. Examples include special permits for the disabled or even local residents and more often one time exceptions based on the case...I have a hard time equating the Declaration to some commercial advertising whose sole purpose is to get us to sign on the dotted line, but I will not push that debate further. I think I understand you, but I value the spirit of the agreement more than the letter of the contract...and yes, the letter counts a lot more than the touchy-feely mood conveyed.
