Good point. I do have qualms with WW2. For one, we aligned ourselves with a worst tyrant than Hitler, in Stalin. For two, we probably just let Pearl Harbor happen to provoke our entrance into the war.

The Germans did intend on taking over the civilized world. They had already taken many countries by force. They had a top military at that time and were directly affecting allies in Europe. Iraq is not comparable, especially in 2003 after years of sanctions and loss of military clout. Iraq had no intentions to take over the world. They were no real threat to us. We departed from our usually somewhat defensive military posture, to a purely offensive attack on Iraq, and have killed many innocents.
