That is a good question, the rationale is the same. If we want a more democratic constitution, we should get rid of such anomalies. If we think that it is wise to impede the federal government from becoming too powerful, we should leave them in place.

Good point, but don't they have more congressperson?

I think electing a president is a different matter, I don't think we need to go through state anymore. State shouldn't decide who to vote, I want my vote to count.

I'm sure back then, each state needed to have ONE voice to maximize each State's interest.
But now? Maybe the need is not as much...
