CHINA WATCH: Beijing Happy With Less Protectionist Bush

BEIJING (Dow Jones)--George W. Bush is back in the White House for another four years and China seems happy that the less protectionist candidate is still in charge.

Much of the rancor directed toward China and its communist leadership during previous presidential election campaigns was missing this year with trade the major wrinkle in the relationship.

President Hu Jintao sent off a congratulatory telegram to the victorious Bush Thursday and talked up the "positive progress" made in the bilateral relationship during the past four years.
