Adjoining California alone would turn Canada into the third or fourth largest economy in the world... T-bonds and T-bills issued by the "red confederacy" --oops! make that la confederacion roja-- would have to be sold and floated in NYC, that is, a foreign country <g>

Ultimately, the whole Bible belt would be completely Mexicanized in ten/fifteen years, becoming a sort of Northern-hemisphere Argentina...
