Today was an exceptional day for braindeath among the teenage choir population. We were trying to get them to lift their soft palates, which is a really hard concept for young singers. One exercise is to pretend you are about to take a big bite of steaming hot potatoes that will burn the roof of your mouth. Everyone was obediently spooning potatoes in except for one alto, who when asked why, said, I'm not about to put those hot potatoes in my mouth. And she was SERIOUS.
