Everytime we hear someone mouthing those words about the so called "Christian Right" let's see exactly what proof they can offer about that term, and their sources.

The blogs should do this as well. Eventually, the MSM couldn't get away with the devisive way they use this term any longer.

Most of us have had some early training on considering and helping others as well as ourselves. Most of us have at least heard of the Golden Rule, and I would imagine that most people try to conduct their lives with that in mind.

I always told my employees that the Golden Rule was written on the front door and was in each office, even if they couldn't actually see it every minute. There was only one who didn't seem to think that way, but she didn't stay too long ....<gg>

I operate off of an absolute definition of morality, and I'm an atheist!

They figure that anyone who rates "moral values" as their concern in voting is a holy roller. They have been taught that believe in moral certainty is to be avoided like the plague.

"Moral values" is also a sort of cow-catcher question, which can pick up both opposition to legalized gay marriage, and the observation that Bush has convictions which the voter shares, while Kerry seems to have few discernible convictions.

If you listen to a "progressive" for 10 seconds, you will find their quest for the all encompassing nanny state is very much a moral issue for them. Giving larges chunks of your wealth to the collective is a moral value to them. And their criticism of anyone who disagrees with them are morally condemning; greedy, selfish, bigots.
