There seems to be little doubt that America is entering a new Dark Ages:

When reason is tossed out, except in weapons' guidance systems, you have a tyranny.

And that is where we are at today.

It's abysmal how many people in America base their lives on superstition instead of education.

Europeans and others are looking on in wonder and horror as America devolves into the same Jihadist/Crusader mentality that has been discredited by thinking populations for the last six centuries.

Here's a nice summary of what went wrong in the American psyche and how we might try to go about overcoming the extraordinary and pathetic attitudes of millions of brainwashed evangelicals.

I find it absolutely risible that you consider me "brainwashed". While I spend hundreds of hours every year learning about every nuance of American governance, foreign policy and secret police operations, the average evangelical will spend an equal amount of time studying a two thousand year old document for clues about..... what, exactly?

Madness is to read ancient texts, i.e. the Bible, the Torah or the Koran and hope to find answers to the questions of how we ought to govern ourselves today. Surely we can do better.
