Karen, you should know that by 1942, Prescott Bush had founded and been running the USO for over a year. The "nazi companies" to which you are referring, were owned by Fritz Thyssen - a man who publicly came out against Hitler in 1938. After which, Hitler considered Thyssen an enemy. This was well before America's entry into WWII, and infact pre dates Germany's joint invasion of Poland - with the Soviets. By 1942, Thyssen was a prisoner of the Nazi's (and soon to be shipped off to a Nazi death camp). Prescott Bush's boss (the man who in fact was responsible for the creation of Thyssen's American holding company) was an Icon of the Democratic Party. Mr. Harriman was in charge of FDR's Lend Lease Program, and was responsible for keeping the British and Soviet War efforts afloat. Harriman played a major role in every Democratic Presidental Administration from FDR to Johnson. He was a Governor of New York, and lost the Democratic nomination for President in 1956. His widow, was very important to President Clinton's run for the Presidency, and was appointed as the American Ambassador to France (by President Clinton). You should also know, that one of the most important weapon system (designed by defense company - owned by Carlyle) was canceled by the Secretary Defense Rumsfeld (which was a cause of considerable friction between the Army and the Secretary). re: "Who are the Bushes? These people are too blind to see, just like the Europeans of the 30s and 40s. You would think that with the example of history they would UNDERSTAND but they do not SEE. They are simply blinded by ignorance, their own greed and their own lack of virtue. The decent majority population of Americans must leave these people behind. God is on OUR SIDE and we will prevail. Even Bush understands that he has no more than 2 years of power before even his own party begins to ignore him. Just 2 years but they will be absolute HELL ON EARTH. ========= if I remember the numbers correctly: 86% of the French despise Bush (they disapprove which is the same thing) Bush hates the French of course because Bush hates them dang furriners. However, 70% of the British despise Bush as well. 50% of Americans despise Bush as well and we're not furriners. That's a mandate: for Americans to work tooth and nail to boot out the right-wing fundamentalists once and for all.
