was surprised by the Virginia vote count. Bush really creamed Kerry in that state.

There is a lot of military in Virginia that I would have expected to go for Bush by a large margin.

Not me, although I have to admit that hearing that the exit polls were giving Virginia to Kerry sent me into a tizzy.

Virginia may be one of those places where the evangelicals got out and voted for Bush. Also the old style Pat Buchanan type of conservatives. Virginia really is the Old Dominion.

I was disappointed that Fairfax went for Kerry this time. Not surprised that Alexandria, Arlington, Richmond and Charlottesville did. Outside the urban areas, all red.
