Governments know very well that people don't think that they are paying that other half. If someone were to pass a "Truth in Taxation" law similar to the Truth in Lending laws and make it a law that people had to be informed of the full tax they'd have a tax revolt overnight.

mulholland, -g- Sorry, I'm not a multi-tasker, so I can't read, write, and talk on the phone. And I'm doing math too, which is a problem all by itself. I've revised my thinking about ignorance the past few years. I think it can be a good thing. As for the SS my employer pays on my behalf, that is their problem. I gave them my number to work for them, and as long as that number was met, the rest fits nicely with "ignorance is bliss". Hope things are good for you. Good Trading TH
