BTW -- I'm a Republican, just not a George W. Bush Republican. I am neither a Republican nor a direct supporter of Dubya. Indeed, I can hardly stand the guy. But I loathe what the Democrats have tried to do to people like me. The GOP enjoyed my vote only because Bush was clearly a better choice than Kerry, simply by virtue of the fact that he nodded toward what I think is the fundamental problem with our economy, our jobs, our families our country in general. The next GOP candidate will not have a clue about such things. And so I suspect that in 2008 far more than 4 million of us will not seriously participate in the election.
