2004 has been a "red" year. USC (team colors Cardinal and gold) wins the Rose Bowl (over a blue team) and wins (half) the National Championship. Red Sox beat the Cardinals (another red team) in the World Series. Red States beat the Blue States in the election. Top two teams in the College Football polls - currently both red.
