That was before the republicans won 4 seats in the senate. He thought if he left he could change the power structure.

It would mean jack shit if he left now. The senate is firmly conservative (Thank God!!)

I hope the door hits him on the ass as he goes but he won't. He would be on the losing side then and there is no power.

All he did was screw himself with that statement.
