Sorry, Joe S Pack, but I can't resist replying to your odd post after being rather silent here for a long time. (I don't like political arguments, which have been plentiful lately, everywhere we look.)

Here's my reply:

If you think the "empire is declining", perhaps one element contributing to its decline will be.........illiteracy........as evidenced by all the grammatical and spelling errors in your post . A second element might be reliance on your vague references to an "inherently flawed system of democracy". What do you mean by that? And who, exactly, are the "liberals and crooks" who hijacked the Democrats?

You got sumptin' to say.......then say it. Don't mumble. Spell it out, properly, and you might be surprised at how many people will agree with it.

I think Bush and the Republicans were very clever in mobilizing a "church vote" that the press really didn't pick up on (maybe not being churchgoers themselves?). He managed to frighten enough of the rest of the electorate and energize those Americans who would like to see us use our military power to force our will on the world to forge a slim majority. Even with this, he won by the narrowest margin for a sitting President since Woodrow Wilson in 1916 - yet he's claiming a "mandate"! 48% of us don't argee with him.
I hope this term will be better than the last. He blown the surplus he was given, and if he wants more foreign adventures, he can only finance them with more debt.
