There are extremists on both sides that need to be controlled. Even you, I would think, realize that the level of extremism in Israel is dwarfed by that on the other side where extremism is encouraged, where terrorism is encouraged and is official policy by Hamas and by Arafat in his Arabic speeches. As for SI posters, look at the weenies and apologists for terrors who post. You'd think they are some sort of a majority of SI members. For there to be real peace, the extremists on both sides will have to be controlled. Sharon has taken the first step with disengagement. Whether or not you believe it is good or has ulterior motives, the fact is that it is a good step, a practical step and one that will take the area further along the road to peace.

The vast majority of Israelis understand that the Palestinians are not going away even if they are not happy about it. Some extremists on both sides have other ideas. Hell, there are even some numb nuts on SI that have posted articles talking about exporting, driving out, or why don't other countries take them solutions. Not majorities but enough. this is the only sensible position. the jews should not allow the arabs to continue to kill them. they should not be asked to do so. they should not be criticized or opposed for driving the arabs to a safe distance. if through technology the arabs will not be safe wherever they are, then there must be no arabs. the arabs have chosen to establish a situation where there will be no jews or no arabs. the jews should not be sacrificed. the arabs are counting on the world insisting the jews be sacrificed- as the world, it is assumed will not stand for or accept the murder of hundreds of millions of arabs.
