(I'm sorry if I've offended you in some way, Tide. As I pointed out though --- I have been through several hurricanes myself, and witnessed the aftermaths --- including Hugo in the Caribbean, before it slowed down to hit the US.... For that matter, I've been hit by lightening and fallen from high places, and it doesn't stop me from joking about them. No offense intended.)

It's IS an old saw though --- a falacy commonly invoked --- in economics to propose that repeated disasters would be a 'boon' to economic growth... since it is often normal for natural disasters (or the man-made kind like wars) to provide one-shot stimulus to economies when things are cleaned-up/re-built.
