Ted,

No, its you who doesn't know how it works. There are numerous Germans and Dutch and other Europeans working here....several are my friends. There are all kinds of ways to get work visas and circumvent the rules. These quotas aren't being filled because the differences between the quality of life in Europe vs here no longer favors us.

Ok, you are the immigration expert, and live in the cosmopolitan state of, what, Washington?

As a European immigrant living in New York City, I don't know how things work.

Joe

Tejek,

I believe you should first talk to an immigration lawyer. Or if you are that good, become one yourself! May I recommend www.immigrationflorida.com and then do your homework first.
Assuming your European friends working in the US made it here during the last 5-8 years they are no dummies but well educated people with specific skills and as such certainly not at home in the lower income brackets. All of which makes things just a little bit easier.

Immigration from Mexico thrives on having close family in the US already or being part of that large amount of illegals being "legalized" every 10 years or so. Don't I know that from San Diego.

But just like your Dutch and German friends working in the US are no dummies I bet you are on their level and know all this quite well. Just enjoying the polemics of the subject, right?
