The ability of programmers to screw things up plus the communication problems re: what they will do and how they work leaves no error unrealized. Every problem that can go wrong will. Putting 70 year old people in charge of such machines and monitoring them is a guaranteed disaster. It is amazing 120 million votes could be cast with so few problems. Having said that I do have a very low opinion for the understanding of the WW11 generation when it comes to automated equipment. That could colour my opinion I assume.
