I think it is a handy feature. And I agree that it does make some people very angry, but no one has a right to have other people listen to them. The government may have to grant most people free speech, but there is no inherent right to making other people listen to you (can you imagine if there was? I'm sure the Aryan brotherhood would love to make us listen to them- thank goodness they can't).

People who would never follow people around the office yelling at them are happy to do this on the net. While I understand the freedom of the net can seduce someone into forgetting their manners for a while (it seduced me for a few years)- I can't understand how one could continue to do it for years and years and never see the problem with such behavior- one of the major problems being the sheer boredom involved in being bad. People who post nasty posts are really boring- since they are prone to recycling their epithets, and what's the point? I don't see it. But obviously other people do.

It's still fun sometimes. Really. Just ignore the bad stuff, and concentrate on the light and pleasing parts. It works, and as a plus, you won't have as much to read :-)
