This is spot on. I have always though that a lot of what went on in the later episodes lacked the magic of the first, though a few later additions (like Yoda) were quite excellent. Lucas had a story to tell, he told it in Episode 4 (the first) and when we went bananas for it, he lost his composure and started throwing meat at us. When that got old, he started throwing candy and other unhealthy nonsense at our kids. Ewoks, Gunguns, Jarjar and "liddle anni". Aside from the fact that he failed technically to adequately manage the details of all this stuff (many mistakes and disconnects, like, for example, having Obi Wan in Episode 1 be Qui Gon's "padewan" when, according to Episode 4 Obi Wan was Yoda's pupil), much of it is just plain silly.
