I know the Democrats won't agree, but I think this might be true. The post-war period in Iraq has been difficult. More difficult than the administration anticipated. My guess is that every effort will be made to stabilize Iraq, get an Iraqi government in place, quell the terrorist influences and get the heck out of there.

If they can be successful in substantially reducing our military presence in Iraq by 2008, the republicans will win a landslide election once again.

This is another reason why we are very unlikely to make any additional aggressive military moves in the next 4 years.
