What time immemorial? In the 14 billion year history of the Universe, we've been here for a blink of an eye. Alaska was made a state in 1959? That's a blink of an eyelash. A century ago Britain looked 'great' now it merely looks moldy. 10 years ago we looked like the high tech capital of the world. Now R&D (these are not just call center jobs any longer) is moving to India and Pakistan along with other high end jobs such as doctors and CFOs. It happens and it will likely happen ever faster. People alway say, 'it can't happen here' right before it does. It's still not a river in Egypt.....
