All we need now are politicians that actually love their nation. That's a tall order.

I haven't seen any evidence of Bush wanting to work with the Democrats. Wherever he appeared during the campaign, attendees had to take an oath of allegience to him! really sick. The president takes the Republican Congress people aside to meet with them behind closed doors. And that was before the "mandate".
