Yes to the first and who knows to the second.

The longterm chart I look at goes back to about '84 and is for the 30 yr bond. The uptrend line is unbroken. Bonds are slightly below the mid point of the longterm channel, at present position.

I tend to think the longterm trend to be broken within 1.5 years, maybe sooner. But until it breaks ... the longterm trend remains unbroken.

ST it appears there has been a top in bonds (bottom in rates).

Interesting in that the most incorrect shorters over the last few years may have been the bond shorters. But they will not let go.
