Well, if you compare Bush to Kerry I would think even the most casual observer would find Bush far more religious then Kerry. jdn

1st of the 10 Commandments: THOU SHALL NOT KILL.

Oh really? You're now rearranging the commandments etched in stone by the finger of God? LOL! The first of the 10 commandments widely accepted by Jews, Christians and Muslims is the acknowledgement of God.

In fact, the first half of the 10 commandments deal with man's relationship with God and from those commands flow the second half of the 10 commandments dealing with man's relationship with other men.

Murder, not killing per se, is the 6th commandment. Christianity has a rich and highly debatable JUST WAR tradition so you can't seriously assert that all war hence all killing is wrong especially now that weapons are increasingly more portable and more destructive, and the concept of preemptive self-defense is being redefined as we speak by the true winners of the last election.

And no, if the demise of godless Communism and the impending collapse of humanistic Socialism teach us anything it is that you can't possibly bifurcate material poverty from the poverty of spirit without ending up like the secular Socialists in Europe 2004 or the secular Democratic party of, say, 2008 who will most likely will still be dominated by the abortion freak-shows, homosexuals, radical environmentalists and secular do-gooders whose big-government instincts run counter to the extremely rich and profound principle of SUBSIDIARITY which has animated Catholic social thought and actions for thousands of years.

If people believed in right and wrong they wouldn't kill babies that would someday pay for their social security.
