i expect the hate in ireland was limited. it appeared to be more of the north who continued the fight with the english. It was religion, suppression etc. I expect the south of ireland and it's descendents moved on. Much of the money sent to the ira in the early 60's was thought to be for charity not for guns. Once the bombs started hurting civilians etc these contributions suffered.
