Because as I grew up in private Catholic schools the priests who taught us, always talked about the 3 great monotheistic religions, one of which was Islam. Well rather than regurgitating what you were told, shouldn't you conclude that if Judaism has 1% of the practitioners of Christianity or Islam that there are TWO significant monotheistic religions (Christianity and Islam), and a slew of other teeny tiny religions (with Judaism falling into that category)?
