Alex > The dollar could slide still further, in spite of hitting an all-time low against the euro last week

Yes, that's what the graphs are telling us.

> fears among traders that Mr Bush's victory will bring four more years of widening US budget and current account deficits, heightened geopolitical risks and a policy of "benign neglect" of the dollar

I can't argue with that either. And throw in Fallujah for good measure.

> This is a big green light to sell the dollar

Yes, again. Long term, medium term and short term weakness on the chart. Not a whiff of strength anywhere.

> Speculative traders in Chicago last week racked up the highest number of long-euro, short-dollar contracts on record

I've heard "talk" about 1.40 on the Euro.

> The dollar's fall comes as the Federal Reserve is widely expected to raise US interest rates by a quarter point to 2 per cent

US 30yr Treasuries have broken their "support line" confirming that interest rates will rise.

> India and Russia have reportedly been selling US assets, as well as petrodollar-rich Middle Eastern investors

Could be?

Alex, that is hands down, one of the funniest by-lines I've read in like FOREVER.

First we have comments from a "johnson" in London
followed up by comments from "balls" in Washington.

Since everyone knows there are lotsa johnsons on London...and elsewhere for that matter...
I confess to being shocked to learn that someone actually claims to have seen, or in Santiago's vernacular "HEARD of" balls in Washington.

TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO FUNNY!

Help us out here, Doc Searle...which do you think is the rarer sighting? or should I say "citing?" I'm thinking balls...by a 2 to one margin...

Alex...you are one of the nicest SIers on the here, but I simply couldn't resist. I haven't laughed this hard in a long time! BTW...Santi is wanting to hitch me up with some male...
and I've always wanted to ask...are you a guy alex, or a girl alex.
