Partisans do not like to recognise greatness when it is resident on the other side of the aisle. Churchill was hated at the time. We are fortunate that the anti-war liberal from Massachusetts did not win.

The first issue will not go away until the rest of the world starts paying a larger share of drug research costs. That alone would slow the growth of drug costs more than anything else I am aware of.
