But you really can't criticize the bill logically. Right, it doesn't cover everything. But it provides your ailing father with a hell of a lot more than Clinton did. My father doesn't even need the benefit. The complaint is not the puny payments...the complaint is that the bill is a true blue republican giveaway to HMOs and drug companies. It requires participants to get the service from a private insurer, aka HMOs, without setting up a competitive environment. HMOs will be able to charge the goverment extremely high prices for drugs, because on a regional level, there is no competition. This is sealed in the bill through a provision that FORBIDS the fed goverment from using the Fed buying power from negotiating high volume discounts. In addition, it FORBIDS the re-importation of drugs from abroad. As a result, we Americans are subsidizing Canadians, Germans and other foreign countries who can buy the same drugs sometimes at a 6x discount...you see, these countries DON'T impose the same limitations on themselves. And then there is the puny payments the program makes to seniors, which could be increased if the republicans were actually on the side of people instead of corporations and they did indeed allow VPAs and competition. And the piece de resistance...the bill's true cost, hidden from the public by an orchestrated, premeditated suppression of information...another word for that is FRAUD. If a democratic president had been party to this THIEVERY, a republican congress would seek to impeach him. Have I given you enough details there conservative shill? Al
